Description
The Crisis is a copper hydrate sylicate, with rather variable gemmological characteristics, depending on the silica content. Its name comes from the Greek chryso (gold) and kolla (colla) as it was a material used for gold welding.
It is formed in copper deposits as a secondary mineral, in the so-called "oxidation cap", often associated with other copper carbonates.
