Description

The Pearl Mabè, also called “half pearl”, is produced by inserting a semi-spherical mother of pearl between the body of the mollusc and one of the two valves. The bivalve reacts by covering the nucleus inserted with layers of mother of pearl for a period between one and three years, after which the maba is ready to be worked.
