Description

The Tanzanite is a variety of zoisite mineral species that exhibits an unmistakable color that varies from blue, to bluish purple to violet blue. There is also a strong pleocroism that makes it even more special.

It was discovered in 1967 in Tanzania, when a member of the Masai tribe stumbled over a group of beautiful blue-violet crystals.
