Sheelite Stone on Muscovite

Dedicated to the discoverer of tungsten (chemical symbol W), the Swed chemistese Carl Wilhelm Scheele, the scheelite offers to the most demanding collector of the spent museum crystals immersed in a matrix of mica muscovite.

The scheelite is a wolframato, or tungstato, calcium with formula CaWO4, crystallizes in the tetragonal system with beautiful bipiramid crystals with colors ranging from orangeci rose, to yellow, to brown and green.

If exposed to UV rays the crystals present a suggestive fluorescence of honey yellow color, which makes skeelite an inevitable presence among the mineralogy collections.
