Also called olivine, the peridoto It is a silicate of magnesium and iron produced by the mixture between two minerals: the fayalite (containing iron) and the forsterite (containing magnesium). The characteristic green color can take shades slightly tending to yellow or brown.
The historic source of procurement is Zabarjad alone (or Zabargad, Zebirget, also called St. John's Iasola), but currently the most beautiful raws suitable for the cut come from Pakistan, United States, Sry Lanka.
